Following some difficulties involving Yukito Kishiro and Shueisha's Ultra Jump, Kishiro moved Battle Angel Alita: final purchase to Kodansha's Evening magazine. That designed that Kodansha now owns the publishing rights for new chapters belonging to the manga. Because there may be now a brand name new publishing arrangement, Viz can no lengthier publish even more volumes.
